Oakdale Elementary School is a K–5 school of 710 students at 3850 Virginia Ct on Cincinnati's west side, one of the elementary schools in Oak Hills Local, and for 2025–2026 it ranks 594th of 1,560 Ohio elementary schools (62nd percentile, 3 stars). That puts it in the upper-middle statewide, but in a new position locally: it is now the lowest-ranked of the three Oak Hills elementaries in this comparison group, behind Charles W Springmyer Elementary School (336th, 78th percentile) and John Foster Dulles Elementary School (355th, 77th percentile). It is still the strongest school among the non-Oak Hills neighbors, with the closest of those, Monfort Heights Elementary School in Northwest Local, at 684th and the Cincinnati Public Schools and charter schools nearby between 831st and 1,340th.

Oakdale beats the state average on all seven state tests reported, averaging 71.8% proficient against 63.8% statewide, but it trails the Oak Hills district average in six of those seven — a reversal from just two of seven in 2022–23. The standout is fifth-grade math at 84.3% proficient, 7.7 points above the district and 25.2 points above the state, and the only 2025–26 measure where Oakdale outscored both same-district peers. The 2025–26 drop was concentrated in third grade and in English language arts rather than spread evenly, and fifth-grade science has slipped for three straight years. The school fell from a 94th-percentile, 5-star school in 2015–16 to 62nd percentile this year.

Two practical points stand out for families. First, chronic absenteeism is 20.1%, roughly double that of its same-district peers (10.2% at Dulles, 12.5% at Springmyer), though far below every Cincinnati Public neighbor. Second, the school has a favorable 20:1 student–teacher ratio, the lowest of the three Oak Hills elementaries, and its effectiveness rankings for special education students (81st percentile) and African American students (78th percentile) exceed its overall standing, while its ranking for low-income students has fallen sharply. About 45% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Bottom line: a solidly above-state school with real upper-grade math strength, but watch the relative decline against its own district and the absenteeism rate.
