In 2025–26 it ranked 524th of 1,046 Ohio middle schools—50th percentile, 3 stars—its first 3-star rating since 2018–19 and the top of a slow climb from the 39th percentile in 2021–22. It is the stronger half of its district, which ranks 459th of 773 Ohio districts (41st percentile, 2 stars).

Attendance is a genuine strength: chronic absenteeism is 20.8%, below the district's 24.5% and third-best among nine nearby middle schools. Harding Middle School is lower at 9.1% and St Clairsville Middle School at 19.0%, while Bellaire Middle School is 42.4%, Buckeye Local Junior High 44.1%, and the two Indian Creek Middle School Grades 5 & 6 and Indian Creek Middle School Grades 7 & 8 campuses 35.8% and 41.9%.
