Summary

Roberts Academy is a PK–8 school serving 704 students at 1702 Grand Ave in Cincinnati, part of Cincinnati Public Schools — a district that ranks 609th of 773 Ohio districts — and it is one of the larger schools among its nearby peers, where only Carson School enrolls more. Its overall results, though, sit near the bottom of the state: for 2025–2026 the school ranked 1,322nd of 1,560 Ohio schools, the 15th percentile with 1 star, and it has stayed in the bottom fifth of Ohio schools for a decade, earning 1 star every year in that history.

The clearest bright spot is attendance. Roberts Academy's chronic absenteeism rate of 25.5% is the lowest among all listed nearby schools and 19.1 percentage points below the district average of 44.6%; schools such as Roll Hill School (66.3%) and Carson School (44.0%) are far higher. The rate has also fallen from 35.1% in 2021–2022. Test scores, though, are mostly below district and state. Two exceptions stand out: 5th grade science at 53.0%, above the district's 42.6% and second among nearby schools only to Covedale School (53.7%); and 8th grade math at 39.7%, above the district's 24.3% and above nearby K–8 schools Riverside Academy (23.1%) and Orion Academy (32.1%), though still below the state's 52.0%. Weaker areas include 4th grade math (20.0%) and 7th grade ELA (21.3%).

In subgroup results, African American students rank at the 36th percentile with 2 stars, above the school's overall 15th percentile, while Hispanic students (27th percentile) and English language learner students (25th) also rank above the overall figure. The most serious concern is special education: those students rank at the 8th percentile with 0 stars, the lowest result by a wide margin, and prior years were lower still (3rd percentile in 2024–2025 and 1st in 2023–2024). Overall, this is a school with very low state rankings but unusually strong attendance and a few genuine academic bright spots.
