District-wide, Valley View Local ranks 265th of 773 Ohio districts — the 66th percentile, with 3 stars — but that average hides three quite different schools.

Valley View High School is the clear standout, ranking 165th of 795 schools (79th percentile, 4 stars) — a big jump from the 61st percentile a year earlier — with a 96.7% graduation rate. End-of-course results are strong almost across the board: 92.1% proficient in American History, 89.7% in Biology, 86.2% in English II, and 86.1% in American Government, all well above state averages. Geometry is the exception at 36.4%, below the state's 43.3%. Valley View Elementary School is the largest school with 814 students and stays above state in six of seven tested areas, including 4th grade math at 81.6% and 5th grade ELA at 76.7%, while posting the district's lowest chronic absenteeism at 13.6%. Still, its average proficiency slipped from 73.1 to 70.7, and 3rd grade ELA is below state at 59.7%.

Valley View Middle School is the main concern, having fallen to the 50th percentile with 3 stars. Algebra I is excellent at 85.2% versus the state's 61.6%, but 8th grade math is only 25.5% versus 52.0%, and 8th grade ELA dropped to 52.9%. Excluding Algebra I, its grade-level performance sits below state. Resource patterns are unusual: the high school has the highest free/reduced-lunch rate (39.74%), the highest per-student spending ($10,830), and the lowest student-teacher ratio (16.1) — and also the strongest outcomes, while the elementary school has a much higher ratio of 35.3 yet still performs above state.
