Kirtland High School is the only high school serving grades 9–12 in the Kirtland Local district in Ohio, enrolling 335 students.

This school is a 5-star, top-performing school. In 2025–2026 it ranked 37th out of 795 Ohio high schools — the 95th percentile — up sharply from 84th of 855 the year before, and its district ranked 35th of 773 districts. Both the school and district reported a 100% graduation rate in 2025–2026. Test results are exceptionally strong: across six End-of-Course subjects in 2025–2026, the school averaged 89.65% proficiency versus a state average of 63.23%, a gap of more than 26 percentage points. Every tested subject beat the state, from Algebra I (80.0% vs. 61.6%) to Geometry (81.4% vs. 43.3%, the largest gap of 38.1 points). Year over year, average proficiency rose about 7 points, led by Geometry (+17.0) and English II (+12.2); American History was essentially flat.

Two things are worth watching. First, Algebra I and Geometry are the only subjects where the school trailed the district slightly (80.0% vs. 83.8% and 81.4% vs. 83.1%); in the other four subjects the figures were identical. Algebra I remains the relative weak spot, though it is still far above the state. Second, chronic absenteeism was 21.1%, nearly double the district's 11.5% — a notable counter-signal given the strong academics and perfect graduation rate. Other context: free/reduced lunch was 9.25% (2024–2025), the student-teacher ratio was 17.6 (2024–2025), and per-student spending was $10,524 (2018–2019).
