New Miami Local is a small Ohio district serving about 578 students across three schools: New Miami Elementary School (PK–5, 292 students), New Miami Middle School (6–8, 138 students), and New Miami High School (9–12, 148 students). The district ranks 656 of 773 Ohio districts, the 15th percentile, and all three schools currently hold a 1-star rating.
New Miami Middle School has the district's clearest academic bright spot: Algebra I proficiency of 76.9% in 2025–2026 and 90.9% the year before, above state and district averages. But that strength is narrow, since 8th grade math (15.0%), 8th grade science (27.3%), and 6th grade math and ELA (30.6%) all lag well behind the state, and the school slipped from 2 stars to 1 star. New Miami High School posts the district's best single outcome, a 100% graduation rate, yet also its lowest rank percentile (16th) and steep gaps in Geometry (9.7%) and English II (39.4%). New Miami Elementary School improved in all seven tested subjects, lifting its average from about 33.3% to 43.8%, though every subject remains below the state average.
Chronic absenteeism is high at every level: 41.0% at New Miami Elementary School, 48.7% at New Miami Middle School, and 49.1% at New Miami High School, versus 44.7% districtwide. Across all current tests, only middle school Algebra I and 7th grade ELA beat state averages.
