Tallmadge City has a single middle school, Tallmadge Middle School, serving grades 6–8 at 484 East Ave in the Tallmadge City district. With about 614 students — roughly 205 per grade — it is a mid-sized building with a student–teacher ratio of 18.8 to 1. Because it is the only middle school in the district, the most useful comparisons for parents are against the district and Ohio statewide figures rather than against nearby schools.
By that measure, the school performs well. In 2025–26 it exceeded the state on all eight test results, by about 14 points on average.
