Summary:

Mt Healthy City is a compact five-school district in the Cincinnati area (45231) serving 2,704 students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Mt Healthy High School is the largest building with 865 students in grades 9–12, followed by Mt. Healthy South Elementary School (604 students, grades 1–6), Mt. Healthy North Elementary School (549 students, grades 1–6), Mt Healthy Junior High School (407 students, grades 7–8), and Mt. Healthy Early Learning Center (279 students, PK–K). The district is rated 738th of 773 Ohio districts (5th percentile, 0 stars), and every school currently carries a 0-star rating.

North Elementary is the district's academic bright spot: it is the only school to earn 1 star in all three ranked years, has the lowest chronic absenteeism (41.8%), and won 8 of 9 grade-and-subject comparisons against South in 2025-26, while posting the district's steepest gains. The junior high's Algebra I stands out at 55% proficient — only 6.6 points below the state rate, the smallest gap in the entire data set — though that course typically serves a self-selected group of accelerated 8th graders. The high school's 91.4% graduation rate is the district's best-kept counter-narrative, well above what its 9th-percentile ranking and low proficiency scores would suggest.

Chronic absenteeism rises steadily with grade level, from 41.8% and 42.6% at the two elementaries to 49.8% at the Early Learning Center, 59.6% at the junior high, and 66.9% at the high school. Math and science are the deepest weaknesses — 8th grade math, 5th grade science at both elementaries, and 7th grade math are the lowest results — while social studies and early-grade ELA are relative strengths. Only two of thirty tested metrics sit within 20 points of the state. The Early Learning Center has the highest student-to-teacher ratio in the district at 31:1.
