Maumee Middle School is the only middle school serving grades 6–8 in the Maumee City district in Ohio, enrolling 494 students with a student–teacher ratio of 11.8 and a 46.56% free/reduced-price lunch rate, meaning it serves a socioeconomically mixed student body.
Because there is just one middle school in Maumee City, there are no local peers to compare against, so the meaningful benchmark is the state of Ohio — and by that measure the school performs well. It beat the state on 7 of 8 assessments in both 2024–25 and 2025–26, and it has ranked in the 65th–69th percentile of Ohio schools with a 3-star rating for three straight years. Algebra I is the standout: 87.8% proficient in 2025–26 versus 61.6% statewide, and 96.1% the year before.
