Summary:

Mt. Healthy Preparatory and Fitness Academy is the only school in the Mt. Healthy Preparatory and Fitness Academy district — a single K–8 campus on Harrison Ave in Cincinnati with about 205 students, roughly 20–25 per grade. Because the school and the district are the same, every figure describes the same student body, so families here have one school to evaluate rather than a set of options to compare.

The headline is a one-year turnaround. In 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 the school ranked in the bottom fifth of Ohio schools (16th percentile, 1 star), and in 2024-2025 all 14 reported grade-and-subject test results fell below the state average. In 2025-2026 it climbed to 651 of 1,560 schools — 58th percentile, 3 stars — and 9 of 14 results were at or above the state figure. Subject averages moved from roughly 30 points below the state to about 4 points above it. Standouts include 5th grade ELA at 100% proficient, 4th grade at 87.5% in both math and ELA, and Science above state in both tested grades.

Science and ELA are now the strengths, while Mathematics averages slightly below the state, with the weakness concentrated at the ends: 3rd grade math at 25.0% and 8th grade at 40.0%. Two things complicate the good news. Chronic absenteeism stands at 49.9% — about half the students — and with only one year of attendance data it is unclear whether attendance improved alongside test scores. The data also has gaps: no free/reduced-lunch figure, per-student spending reported only for 2018-2019, and just two years of achievement results. Read this as a school moving sharply in the right direction, but one where a single year cannot yet prove the gains are lasting, and where grade-level results swing widely — partly because small grade sizes make percentages jump.
