A parent with a kid from a big public school said to me that the perception that large public schools have more to offer their students is not accurate. She said that students are cut from sport teams and participation in drama, choir, etc. Given the size of the student body there is high competition for all leadership positions. Cuts mean there is less to offer kids that are not superstars in their sport or interest. At SCC my kids were big fish in a little pond. They excelled at SCC and are excelling in college with the skills learned at SCC. Close Quote

I am a parent with a junior at Spa Catholic and another son who recently graduated. Both love Spa. The main points for them were: small class sizes and individualized attention. They also liked all the opportunities to get involved with any activity they want including sports (Golf, basketball, baseball, whatever they wanted) and academic (Odyssey of the Mind, Peer Ministry, Mock Trial, etc.). As a parent, we appreciate the access to all teachers and administrators as well as the fact that we know all the families in their grades. A true sense of community! Close Quote

Saratoga Central Catholic School is a great place to go as a student and is a great place to send your children. I am an alumnus and a current parent of an SCC student. The small environment allows for personal instruction, if needed, and the teams and clubs are "no cut". Amazingly, SCC still wins many local and regional competitions with these "no cut" teams and clubs. Close Quote
