Ella FitzGerald Academy is a public magnet elementary school serving grades PK-8 in Yonkers, NY, part of the Yonkers City School District. With 458 students, the school consistently ranks in the bottom 25% of New York elementary schools, earning a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Ella FitzGerald Academy struggles academically, with proficiency rates on state assessments generally lower than the Yonkers district and New York state averages across grades and subjects. Despite a significant increase in per-student spending, the school's student-teacher ratio remains high at 16.6.

Interestingly, Ella FitzGerald Academy is located near several other public magnet schools in Yonkers, such as Eugenio Maria De Hostos Microsociety School, Mlk Junior High Technical & Computer Magnet School, and Pearls Hawthorne School, which generally outperform Ella FitzGerald Academy on academic measures. This proximity presents opportunities for collaboration and sharing of best practices, which the school may need to improve its own performance and better serve its students.
