Summary

Frazer K-8 School is a public elementary and middle school in Syracuse, New York, serving 787 students in grades PK-8. The school is part of the Syracuse City School District, which is ranked 849 out of 874 districts in New York and has a 0-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Frazer K-8 School consistently ranks among the lowest-performing schools in New York state, with proficiency rates well below the state and district averages in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, the school's proficiency rates ranged from 11.02% to 26.76% in ELA and 1.18% to 21.05% in Math, compared to the state averages of 50.86% to 56.61% in ELA and 46.74% to 59.7% in Math. The school also struggles to support the academic achievement of various student subgroups, ranking in the bottom 10-20% of New York elementary schools for African American, Hispanic, White, English Language Learner, Special Education, and Low Socioeconomic Status students.

In contrast, the nearby Solvay Elementary School and Cherry Road Elementary School, which are part of the Solvay Union Free School District and Westhill Central School District respectively, demonstrate significantly higher academic performance and lower poverty rates. This highlights the stark disparities in educational outcomes between the Syracuse City School District and the surrounding districts, despite Frazer K-8 School's relatively high per-student spending of $27,303 in the 2023-2024 school year.

Open Quote I use to go to that school and all the teacher care about you and what they are teaching. It was the best school that i ever been to and it a great school for all students to be. I learn alot of thing while having fun doing it. I also love the way that most of the teacher teach and how fast i learn from them. I am happy that i use to go to that school and make alot of friend that i care for. The best thing about Frazer school was all the little kids that always say Hi' to me and always making me smile.
