William A Carter School is an elementary school in Middletown, New York, serving students from kindergarten to 5th grade as part of the Middletown City School District. The school has seen fluctuating performance over the years, with its current rating of 2 out of 5 stars from SchoolDigger.

While the school has a relatively high per-student spending, its student performance in state assessments is generally below the state and district averages, particularly in Math and Science. Additionally, the school's high percentage of students from low socioeconomic backgrounds, ranging from 73-76% receiving free or reduced-price lunch, may be a contributing factor to its overall academic performance challenges.

Open Quote My child has attended this school only for a few months, and the unprofessional, rude, and ridiculousness that i have encountered is amazing! I am a very involved parent. I guess being involved and questioning their ways of teaching is not something this school is used to. I would rather home school my child instead have her in the Middletown school district!
