Summary

Livingston Manor High School is a public high school serving grades 7-12 in the Livingston Manor Central School District, with 167 students. While the school generally performs above the state average on Regents exams, it struggles with 7th and 8th grade state assessments and has a lower four-year graduation rate compared to nearby schools.

Livingston Manor High School's strengths include strong performance on Regents exams in Algebra II, Earth Science, and Global History and Geography. However, the school has a significantly higher chronic absenteeism rate, ranging from 31.5% to 38.6%, which is likely a contributing factor to its lower graduation rates and test scores. Compared to other high schools in the area, such as Sullivan West High School At Lake Huntington and Tri-Valley Secondary School, Livingston Manor High School generally performs in the middle of the pack, outperforming some schools but lagging behind higher-performing ones.

Despite spending significantly more per student ($45,082) compared to the nearby schools, the higher spending does not seem to translate into significantly better outcomes for Livingston Manor High School. The school's challenges, including its high chronic absenteeism rate and lower performance of certain student subgroups, suggest that the district and school may need to focus on addressing these issues to better serve its students and community.

Open Quote I'm so glad that I transferred to Livingston Manor. The teachers at this school genuinely want to teach and are good at their jobs. The vast majority of my classmates were well-behaved and eager to learn. I felt completely safe on campus, which is more than I can say for my previous school. There were no gangs, no thugs, no drug pushers, and bullies were handled quickly when the teachers and school officials were informed. If I had a child, I would be happy to send him or her to this school. Close Quote
