Academically, Jennie F Snapp Middle School's performance, as measured by state assessments, is generally below the state and district averages. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, the percentage of students proficient or better in English Language Arts (ELA) ranged from 41.27% (6th grade) to 44.83% (8th grade), compared to the state averages of 50.86% (6th grade) to 52.38% (8th grade). Similarly, in math, the school's proficiency rates ranged from 42.11% (8th grade) to 54.17% (7th grade), compared to the state averages of 46.74% (8th grade) to 56.47% (7th grade). When compared to nearby middle schools, such as Vestal Middle School and Maine-Endwell Middle School, Jennie F Snapp Middle School generally performs worse academically, with lower proficiency rates in ELA and math. The school's increased spending per student and relatively low student-teacher ratio suggest that the district is investing resources in the school, which may help to improve academic outcomes in the future.

Open Quote I think this is 1 of the worst schools in the Broome county area. My son has a learning disability and is targeted by bullies. The school has done nothing to help the situation. As a matter of fact they made it worse. After my son had been assulted on a school bus I spoke to one of their principals about it. The following week I had my son at the emergency room after another assult by the same student. I ended up getting the police involved and thats when they decided that they would put my son on another bus.Not to long ago the union endicott was in the local newspaper talking about how they are trying to control the problem with bullies. Maybe if she spent alittle less time with the press and more on the schools around here they could figure out some kind of solution to the problem. I got one tell your staff to start doing their jobs and stop letting the kids run the school. Close Quote
