Springhurst Elementary School consistently performs well on state assessments, with a high percentage of students proficient or better in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math across grades 3-5. In the 2024-2025 school year, the school's ELA proficiency rates ranged from 68.81% in 3rd grade to 81.97% in 4th grade, significantly higher than the state average. Similarly, the school's Math proficiency rates ranged from 69.37% in 3rd grade to 86.89% in 4th grade, also well above the state average. Springhurst's academic performance is generally stronger than the nearby Yonkers City School District schools analyzed, with much higher proficiency rates in ELA and Math.

While Springhurst Elementary School performs well overall, there are notable gaps in performance between different student subgroups. The school's rankings for Asian, African American, and Hispanic students are lower than for White and Multi-racial students, suggesting the need to address these achievement disparities. Additionally, the school's proximity to Greenburgh Eleven Elementary School, a much smaller public school with a very high percentage of economically disadvantaged students, highlights the inequities that can exist within a local education system.

Open Quote Springhurst is a really caring school in a caring village. The teachers and staff are warm and welcoming and my son is happy there. I wish the classrooms could be smaller and that foreign language was offered starting in Kindergarten but overall I'm very pleased with our experience. Close Quote
