Ps 110 Monitor (The) consistently outperforms the New York City Geographic District #14 and the state of New York in proficiency rates for English Language Arts (ELA) and Math on the New York State Assessments. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, the school's 3rd grade ELA proficiency rate was 85.71%, compared to 62.27% for the district and 54.15% for the state. The school also has strong performance across various student subgroups, including female students, male students, Hispanic students, white students, special education students, and low socioeconomic status students. Additionally, Ps 110 Monitor (The) has a relatively high spending per student, ranging from $13,753 in the 2020-2021 school year to $26,468 in the 2023-2024 school year, and a low student-teacher ratio, ranging from 14.6 to 16.4 students per teacher over the past few years.

When compared to nearby schools in the same district, Ps 34 Oliver H Perry also demonstrates strong academic performance, but Ps 110 Monitor (The) generally outperforms them in academic proficiency rates. However, the school's performance for English Language Learner (ELL) students is relatively lower, indicating that the school may need to focus on improving educational outcomes for its ELL population. Additionally, Brownsville Collegiate Charter School, a nearby magnet school, also demonstrates exceptional academic performance, suggesting that Ps 110 Monitor (The)'s strong results may be partly attributable to its selective enrollment process.

Open Quote I have 3 children in this school two have IEPs and I myself attended, 4 of my siblings and 2 of my nieces. Specifically over the last 5 years I have seen the behavior of this school become a true problem. Bullying IS AN ONGOING issue. Incidents have been physical, wishing death notes, my children have come home with bruising on their face and arms, and there is little to no attention. Over the last 4 years I have escalated bullying to the superintendent at least 4 times. Children run around in class and constantly disrupt and talk back to teachers. making it difficult to learn. The school policies and PTA are heavily leaned to the left. Expect your children in all grades to be provided with transgender ideologies, books on drag queens and if you share a different view, expect the PTA to come with pitchforks. Recently I expressed help from the PTA to simply NOTIFY parents that these conversation may be had and they rejected that and called me hateful, violent and aggressive. When I was simply stating all parents should be aware. There is no visual arts program, unless you are a trans kid or ally which they have created a group for. Sciences lack heavily as well as other enrichment programs. If you give enough money and time you may have more voice.
My son has been forced to read books on drag queens by his teacher when this teacher knowingly knew I didn’t feel it was age appropriate. I have requested many conversations and they have not been had. Looking at nearby schools that would be feasible to transfer who hold a more neutral state regarding these topics in classrooms while being able to support the larger community. Close Quote
