Open Quote PS 94 has many problems which is really sad because community and the student population is wonderful.
The leadership has failed this school on many levels. The school environment is not good. There is distrust, disrespect and poor communication between staff, Principal and parents. The school is run in a chaotic manner. The curriculum changes constantly without much thought or communication and in a random fashion. The school is run in an undemocratic and chaotic way. One never knows when "walk throughs" of classrooms by administration will result in the Principal screaming at teachers and students, and / or exploding about the classroom bulletin boards. Every year many teachers leave the school ! The extremely high turn over of teachers is a result of this poorly run and hostile, divisive school climate. Maybe things will get better for PS 94 with some serious changes to the administration. Close Quote

Open Quote I was a student there back in the 1974. I even attended the mini school. Some of the teachers throughout my school years were :kindergarden 107 am I think they were Mrs.Goldsmith and I don't remember the other teacher right now, first grade Mrs. Hirsch class 1-2, 3rd grade class 3-2 room 101 Mr. Oscar Clerk, substitute teacher Mrs. Perminger,1976-77.That year we participated in the Bicentenial Day Parade, the costumes were being made in the basement of the school when back then it was our lunch room. I have wonderful memories of that school. About six years ago I visited the school and I had an overwhelming feeling just going up the stairs. The smell, the colors, the sounds in the hallway was incredible. The lady at the front desk was so kind with me,I think she felt my sorrow,I don't know,I just felt like I was in a twilight zone.It was a feeling I can't even describe.I just wanted to stand there and just breath it all in. Then I saw the little ones and I remembered saying"Oh my God I was that tiny?" I even had a glimpse of the main office.I had to ask if there were any yearbooks from the 70's but I guess not.I hope to visit the school again and relive beautiful memories even though I'll just have to stand there for a very short time.I thank you for the respect shown towards me and my feelings on that visit.I will forever cherish P.S.94 in my heart.Do you have any info on the teachers that worked in that school during the 70,s.I have been searching for some of them through reunion.com and classmates.com and have no luck. Thank you again, respectfully Arlene Montero. Close Quote
