Open Quote The teachers are great at this school and really work hard. The principal, Yusuf Muhammed, on the other hand, spends most of his time increasing the hype of the school without actually doing anything within the school. He thinks the best way to help our high school-aged youth is to continually pass them on to the next grade, even if they aren't educationally ready and to discard any type of discipline structure in the school, even though research for decades has shown that students perform better when they are held accountable for their decisions.

Demand a better education from your schools, parents! Make sure your students are actually being prepared for college or life after high school. Your children learning lessons like, "It's ok to show up for class only once per week; I'm sure your full-time boss will also be ok if you show up only once per week" or "It's ok if you don't know how to write a grammatically correct sentence; I'm sure your professor in college will take the time to show you how instead of just giving you a D," are not helping the children of NYC.
