As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This school is amazing, The staff is dedicated to teaching the students. The professionalism of the staff is great they are always around to lend a helping hand when ever they can. The staff also supports the school in any fundraisers that are had. The staff is also strong in the community many of them don't have to travel far to get work. Their are student's that travel from all five boros to obtain an education at The Bedford village school also know as public school #003. My expierence as parents has been a very good one I have a close relationship with all of the saff. It is truly a family style community. My daughters both attended the school last year my oldest daghter graduated at the very top of her class with all honors. My youngest daughter on the other hand struggles and the principal along with her teacher, parent cordinater, assistant principals, and all of the teachers that she had as well as her current teacher are all working together to help her in the areas that she is struggling in. The parent involvement has really picked up and the community support also. There are several programs to enrich the children, theres education through music, robotics, computers, drama, play works, cook shop (coming soon), partner ship with children, a speech therapist, physical therapist, and an IEP teacher. The PTA hosts a movie night one friday a month, they are hosting a coat drive for the children in the school, a can food drive in colaberation with a fith grade teacher, the PTA sponsors dances for children who have behaved in all areas not just acadimics but behavior, and cooperation. They have PTA meentings that are very informative and all who attend will be given light refreshments. This is a culturally diverse school children of all races obtain a education together. I am proud to be a part of such a great school. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
