The school's four-year graduation rate has been relatively stable, ranging from 81.3% to 85.6% over the past few years, which is slightly lower than the district and state averages. Additionally, the school has a significantly higher chronic absenteeism rate compared to the district and state, ranging from 31.5% to 42.7% over the past few years.

The International School For Liberal Arts is located in close proximity to several high-performing schools, such as Bronx High School Of Science (The), High School Of American Studies At Lehman College, and Celia Cruz Bronx High School Of Music (The), which consistently outperform the International School For Liberal Arts across various academic metrics. The school's high percentage of students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds, with nearly 100% of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch, likely contributes to the school's academic challenges and higher rates of chronic absenteeism.
