Open Quote This is a wonderful school. The numbers reflect the two difficult years the school community went through due to an abusive principal. That principal is thankfully gone now, and the school is recovering from the damage she inflicted.
The pedagogy and the work in each classroom are truly outstanding. This is a school that still serves as a model of progressive excellence to many in the US and around the world, and rightfully so. Come to visit and see for yourself. Close Quote

Open Quote The teachers and staff at Central Park East I believe that children "learn through experiencing". In addition to their regular studies students have 'project time' and often visit natural environments that take them outside the classroom.

There is a sense that the teachers understand that every child is unique, may learn differently, and will some day make a special contribution to their community and to the world.

The staff and teachers are intelligent, warm, loving human beings who respect children and seem geniunely proud to be educators.

They put children first. I love this school. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
