ZIP code 88310 in Alamogordo contains six elementary schools — Desert Star Elementary, Sunset Hills Elementary, Sierra Elementary, Buena Vista Elementary, Yucca Elementary, and North Elementary — all part of Alamogordo Public Schools, which ranks 41st of 87 New Mexico districts at the 53rd percentile with 3 stars. Together they enroll 1,746 students, from 466 at Desert Star to 159 at North. Most serve grades K–5, while Yucca and North serve PK–5.
