Together they cover grades 4 through 8. Both report 100% free/reduced lunch for 2024–2025, and their class sizes differ, with student–teacher ratios of 16.8 at Naaba Ani and 11.8 at Mesa Alta.

Mesa Alta Junior High is the stronger of the two in English language arts. In 2025–2026, its all-grades ELA proficiency was 45.37%, above the district's 42.14% and the state's 44.66%, following 47.67% in 2024–2025. Its 7th-grade ELA of 49.7% was above the state's 46.99%. Otherwise it trails the state, with 6th-grade ELA at 27.73% versus 39.14% and 6th-grade math at 27.73% versus 32.13%. Its all-grades ELA declined from 42.18% to 39.85% while the state rose from 44.19% to 44.66%. Its only available ranking was 2023–2024, at 63 of 165, the 62nd percentile with 3 stars. Math is a district-wide challenge, with Bloomfield Schools at 22.19% against the state's 27.85%, trailing by roughly 5–6 percentage points.
