Manzano Day School

At Manzano Day School, you are allowed to pay top price for a mediocre education. The years my children spent at Manzano left them unprepared for upper grades at other schools and I wish I had listened to other parents who told me that this very thing would happen. It looks beautiful on the outside, but on the inside one finds middling teachers and a poor administration who are more interested in how much you will donate (on top of the $14K tuition) than in investing in education. Save your money and go to a far Northeast Heights public school.

Our daughter has done well in this environment. She is doing more here than she would be in public. The school provides a lot of screening which has helped us to find a learning issue that would have gone overlooked at a public school. Overall we are happy with this school.

Manzano Day School is a terrible school. It is academically unacceptable--the students do not receive a good education and many children leave the institution needing extra help for math and writing skills. The school had a good reputation for many years but the current administration is overly focussed on how much money they can get out of parents and grandparents (in addition to the $13K+ per year for tuition). There are many better options in Albuquerque--Manzano is not what it used to be.
