Summary:
The 08835 zip code in New Jersey is home to two elementary schools: Weston Elementary School and Roosevelt School. Both schools serve students in grades K-5 and are part of the Manville School District.
Based on the available data, neither Weston Elementary School nor Roosevelt School appear to be standout performers. Both schools have low SchoolDigger ratings, with Weston Elementary School earning 1 out of 5 stars and Roosevelt School earning 0 out of 5 stars. Their academic proficiency rates on the NJSLA assessments are also well below the state averages, indicating that students are struggling to meet grade-level standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Additionally, both schools report high chronic absenteeism rates of 14.9%, which can further hinder student learning and achievement.
The data suggests that the schools in this area are facing significant challenges, likely related to the socioeconomic status of the communities they serve. Both Weston Elementary School and Roosevelt School have high percentages of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, indicating a high level of economic disadvantage. Despite the schools' underperformance, they appear to receive similar levels of per-student funding and have comparable student-teacher ratios, raising questions about the effective use of resources and the need for targeted interventions to address the schools' challenges.
