Summary:
The 08758 zip code area is home to two elementary schools - Waretown Elementary School and Frederic A. Priff Elementary School, both serving students in grades K-5 and operated by the Ocean Township School District. Based on the available data, these schools appear to be underperforming compared to state averages, with low statewide rankings and mixed academic performance metrics.
Neither school stands out as a clear high performer, with both Waretown Elementary and Frederic A. Priff Elementary ranking in the bottom third of New Jersey elementary schools over the past three years. Frederic A. Priff Elementary has a slightly higher 2-star rating compared to Waretown Elementary's 1-star rating, but both schools have chronic absenteeism rates of 14.9% and serve economically disadvantaged student populations, with 35.35% and 41.2% of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, respectively.
While Waretown Elementary spends slightly more per student and has a lower student-teacher ratio, the academic performance data suggests that both schools are struggling to meet state standards, with Frederic A. Priff Elementary's proficiency rates on the NJSLA assessments falling significantly below state and district averages. Overall, the data indicates that the elementary schools in the 08758 zip code area face challenges in providing high-quality education to their students and may require targeted interventions and support to improve their performance.
