Summary:
The six elementary schools in ZIP code 08081 enroll 3,011 students and collectively serve prekindergarten through grade 5; they are part of Gloucester Township Public Schools and Winslow Township School District. In 2025–2026, third-grade scores ranged from 23% to 58% in ELA and from 22% to 67% in math. The most important takeaway is that results vary widely by school, with Union Valley Elementary School the consistent academic leader.
Union Valley Elementary School had the highest reported ELA and math scores in grades 3–5 and the highest grade 5 science result: 58%, 44% and 56% in ELA; 67%, 57% and 50% in math; and 19% in science. Its grade 3 math score was 45 points above the lowest, at Winslow Township Elementary School Three (22%). James W. Lilley Elementary School had several of the group’s lowest results, including grade 3 ELA (23%), grade 4 math (41%), grade 5 ELA (39%), grade 5 math (25%) and grade 5 science (9%). Winslow Township Elementary School Two is a math bright spot: its grade 3 result was 60%, just 7 points below Union Valley’s.
Compared with the state, average ELA and math gaps narrowed from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, but grade 3 moved in the opposite direction: its ELA gap widened from 1 point to 6, and its math gap from 1 point to 4. Grade 5 gaps narrowed in both subjects. SchoolDigger’s statewide ranking was in the 56th–57th percentile for Union Valley and School Two, versus the 17th percentile for School Three. School Two and School Three had similar free/reduced lunch eligible measures in 2024–2025 (60% and 63%), yet their grade 3 math scores differed by 38 points; their student-teacher ratios were 10.4 and 12.2. These are observations, not evidence that one measure explains another. Fourth- and fifth-grade results are available for only three schools; all six report grade 3 scores.
