Summary:
The 07830 zip code area is home to three high-performing elementary schools: Valley View School, Tewksbury Elementary School, and Califon Public School. These schools serve students in grades K-6 and are part of the Lebanon Township School District, Tewksbury Township School District, and Califon Borough School District, respectively.
Tewksbury Elementary School and Califon Public School stand out as the top performers in the area. Tewksbury Elementary is ranked 265 out of 1,338 New Jersey elementary schools and has a 4-star rating from SchoolDigger, with impressive test scores and a low percentage of free/reduced lunch recipients. Califon Public School also boasts exceptional test scores, with 81.8% of 4th graders proficient or better in ELA and 70% of 6th graders proficient or better in Math. The school is well-resourced, with high spending per student and a very low student-teacher ratio of 5.6.
While all three schools generally outperform the state averages in both ELA and Math proficiency, the area does face a common challenge of high chronic absenteeism rates, exceeding the state's target of 10%. Additionally, the stark contrast in free/reduced lunch rates between Tewksbury Elementary and the other schools suggests potential socioeconomic differences in the student populations, which could impact educational outcomes and resource allocation.
