As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote It is my daughters second year at Green HIlls School and we couldn't be more pleased with the teachers and administration. She is provided with a quality education and academic, technological and innovative challenges every day. She loves school and we couldn't be happier! Close Quote

Open Quote Green Township is an amazing place to live and our favorite part of living here is being able to send our children to Green Hills School. The teachers, staff, and administration are all so invested in every child's needs and helping them each to reach their potential. Every year my oldest child's favorite teacher is his current one. Any time I have had concerns and have brought them up, everyone has always been very receptive and open. To be honest though, I have had very few concerns. My kids love Green Hills. Close Quote

Open Quote I could not be happier with the education that my children are receiving at GHS. School is second to none in technology, innovation and forward thinking. Highly recommend it if you have a K-8 child! Close Quote

Open Quote Green Hills is an excellent school. Period. The other two reviews (obviously written by the same person) are so stunningly inaccurate and devoid of ANY fact they are laughable. Any one considering moving here should do their due diligence and dig deeper for the facts. Find out why teachers stay here for life, find out why former students return as teachers, look up at the test scores (the scores and ranking are available)...Better yet, disregard all the reviews and VISIT THE SCHOOL AND SEE FOR YOUR SELF.
And ask yourself why someone would spew such venom in a review and still give 2 and 3 stars.... Close Quote

Open Quote We are trying to figure out what’s happening to this school. I still have two children attending Green Hills School and the problems are confusing. There are plenty of cheerleaders within the school, but nobody to address escalating bad situations among the growing diversity of children. Some people are oblivious to what is really going on within the walls. I see a trend emanating from the school. If the school says something enough times, will it actually become true? In reality this is an average school contradicted by the surrounding beauty and wealth. But, that’s not the real problem. A systemic culture coming from a history based mainly on affluence may be a root cause. The children suffer in the present atmosphere and I am looking forward to my children moving out of this school. Feeble attempts to add expensive instantly-out-of-date technology seem to be yearly. I am very suspicious of the reviews with phrases that sound like the website, or more accurately a promotional brochure. The gimmicky programs of questionable educational value are tweeted and re-tweeted to us from GHS on a frequent basis in a seemingly desperate attempt to justify their existence. The serious problems with inappropriate interaction are ignored. This school is struggling with an identity crisis. Close Quote

Open Quote This school continues to decline. Some great teachers, a handful who actually care. The taxes and school expenditures are both outrageous. On top of this are the violence statistics. This area saw, on average, a higher rate of violence, vandalism, weapons, drug use and bullying than some New Jersey neighborhoods considered to be the worst of the worst, in the country. If your child is not in the popular crowd, give it up. They will be bullied AND get in trouble. Who’s steering the ship? A principal promoted to Superintendent (keep in mind there’s one small school in the WHOLE District), and the assistant principal, a character disliked by locals, who became the principal by default. Their hilarious “SECOND TO NONE” slogan has become the object of sarcasm and similar tongue-in-cheek sayings, (insert yours here). Discipline is random and biased. The wealthy feel free to do as they please without repercussions. The N-word, homophobia and racism are alive and well among students at this school, from a very young age. Coming in from the outside I have been appalled. Keep in mind there is not a police force in this township, and coverage is sketchy. Academically, if one good-old-boy local rich family wants the curriculum changed to suit their lazy child, it’s done without question. They should also be more honest about their sports offering, geared toward the local skills. Sports? They state Baseball, Soccer, Softball, Wrestling, etc. We wish! These sports have nothing to do with the school and are done in conjunction with surrounding clubs. Does this sound like your kind of school? Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
