Summary:
Port Republic School District has one listed school, Port Republic Elementary School District, serving kindergarten through grade 8, with 110 students. In 2025–2026, the school’s average results were higher than New Jersey’s in ELA (62% versus 51%) and reported math (52% versus 44%), while its science average was slightly lower (21% versus 23%). The clearest overall finding is that achievement is stronger in ELA and math than in science.
There is no school-to-school leader or trailer because this is the district’s only listed school; the sharpest contrasts are between its grades. Seventh-grade ELA was a standout at 82%, 27 points above the state’s 56%, while fifth-grade math reached 67%, 21 points above the state’s 46%. Fifth-grade science was 42%, 14 points above the state’s 27%. At the lower end, sixth-grade math was 31%, 10 points below the state’s 40%, and eighth-grade science was 0%, 19 points below the state. Eighth-grade math and Algebra I results are suppressed, so no score can be stated for them.
Over time, ELA’s advantage over the state grew, while math’s narrowed: comparing the same grades across years, the ELA gap rose from 9 points in 2024–2025 to 11 points in 2025–2026, while the math gap shrank from 11 to 8 points. Science’s average gap improved from 7 points below the state to 2 points below, but fifth-grade science rose 14 points as eighth-grade science fell 8 points. SchoolDigger’s ranking also declined, from the 71st percentile and four stars in 2023–2024 to the 61st percentile and three stars in 2025–2026. As context, in 2024–2025 the school had a student-teacher ratio of 9, 3% free/reduced lunch eligible, and chronic absenteeism of 9%, compared with 14% statewide.
