Mount Olive Township School District

The Mount Olive Township School District in Mount Olive Township includes six schools: four elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. In 2025–2026, the elementary schools’ grade 3–5 averages ranged from 56% to 66% in ELA, compared with 49% for the state, and from 58% to 66% in math, compared with 47% statewide. The most important finding is that every elementary school’s average was above the state in both subjects, though results varied from school to school.

Sandshore Rd. Elementary School led in average elementary ELA at 66%; Mountain View Elementary School led in average math at 66%. Tinc Rd. Elementary School had the highest grade-5 math rate, 75%, while Sandshore led grade-5 science at 44%. At the other end, Chester M. Stephens Elementary School had the lowest ELA rate in each of grades 3–5 and the lowest grade-5 math and science rates, but remained above the state in those comparisons. At Mount Olive Middle School, grade-7 Algebra I was 100%, while grade-8 math was 17%, 5 points below the state. Mount Olive High School had 87% in grade-11 NJGPA ELA, 12 points above the state, but 13% in Algebra I End of Course, 27 points below.

Elementary averages shifted differently by subject: from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, ELA fell from 64% to 61%, while math rose from 61% to 63%; the schools’ math advantage over the state widened from 14 to 15 points. SchoolDigger’s average statewide percentile ranking for the six schools rose from 66 to 70 between 2023–2024 and 2025–2026, although Tinc and Mount Olive High each slipped 2 percentile points. The elementary schools’ free/reduced lunch eligible shares in 2024–2025 ranged from 11% at Sandshore to 33% at Tinc; these figures offer context, not an explanation of results. At the high school, the 96% graduation rate was favorable, while chronic absenteeism was 15%, above the state’s 14%.
