Lakewood Township School District includes five schools—one high school, one middle school and three elementary schools—serving students from elementary through high school in Lakewood Township. Most reported 2025–26 proficiency results are below state levels, but one result stands apart: Lakewood Middle School students were proficient on 89% of the grade 8 Algebra I test, versus 75% statewide, a 14-point advantage. That is a subject-specific strength, not a sign that the school is ahead in its other reported subjects.
The clearest low results include Lakewood Middle grade 8 science, at 3% versus 19% statewide, and regular mathematics, at 7% versus 23%. At Lakewood High School, grade 11 NJGPA mathematics was 50% versus 61% statewide, while the graduation rate was 73% versus 89% in 2024–25.
