Elementary Schools in Lebanon School District

Lebanon School District includes two elementary schools in Lebanon, New Hampshire: Hanover Street School, serving kindergarten through Grade 4, and Mt. Lebanon School, serving prekindergarten through Grade 4. Together, they enroll 562 students and have favorable student-teacher ratios of about 10.6 students per teacher. The Lebanon School District ranks 42nd out of 166 districts statewide, placing it around the 75th percentile.

Both schools perform well compared with New Hampshire overall, particularly in mathematics. In 2025–2026, Mt. Lebanon School led the area with 70% mathematics proficiency and 64% reading proficiency, compared with 64% and 61% at Hanover Street School. Mt. The schools have different recent trends. Hanover Street School improved by one percentage point in both mathematics and reading from the prior year, while Mt. Lebanon School declined three points in mathematics and five points in reading after an especially strong 2024–2025 year. Mt. Lebanon remains the stronger overall performer, but Hanover Street shows steadier recent progress. Parents may want to look closely at Hanover Street’s Grade 4 mathematics results, Mt. Lebanon’s Grade 3 reading results, and whether the large Grade 4 advantage at Mt. Lebanon continues with future student groups.
