Hampstead School District

Hampstead School District is a small New Hampshire PK–8 district serving about 822 students through two schools: Hampstead Central School for prekindergarten through grade 4 and Hampstead Middle School for grades 5–8. The district has no high school or alternative school, and its overall SchoolDigger standing is around the 60th percentile statewide, with a three-star rating.

Both schools report favorable student–teacher ratios and relatively low free- or reduced-price lunch participation. Hampstead Central School remains competitive with the state, particularly in mathematics, but its ranking percentile declined over three years and its mathematics result fell four points in the latest year. Overall, the district appears solid, with the main areas to monitor being Central’s reading and ranking trends, sixth-grade reading, and eighth-grade mathematics.
