Osgood Elementary School has consistently underperformed compared to the West Fargo 6 district and the state of North Dakota in academic proficiency. Similarly, in reading, only 27% of Osgood students were proficient or better, compared to 39% for the district and 40% for the state. Additionally, Osgood has had high rates of chronic absenteeism, ranging from 12% to 20% over the past few years, which is significantly higher than the state average.

When comparing Osgood Elementary School to other nearby schools in the West Fargo 6 district, it becomes evident that Osgood is underperforming. For example, Legacy Elementary School and Deer Creek Elementary School have significantly higher academic proficiency rates and higher SchoolDigger rankings than Osgood. Despite the higher per-student spending at Osgood Elementary School, the school's academic performance remains below the district and state averages, suggesting that simply increasing funding may not be the sole solution. Addressing the root causes of these challenges, such as through targeted interventions, professional development for teachers, and community engagement, could help the school make progress and better serve its students.

Open Quote My personal experience with my daughter's kindergarten teacher and the principal has been poor. The teacher is hard to communicate and work with. She does not meet my daughter's needs as a gifted student. Her assessments are poor and after speaking with her very little has been done and what has been done does not meet my daughter's needs at all. The principal listens and responds but defends the teachers up and down and does nothing to improve the situation. If your child does not need any special accommodations, this school would be fine. However, if you need to work with the staff to give individual accommodations...I would NEVER recommend this school. Close Quote

SchoolDigger data sources: National Center for Education Statistics, U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Census Bureau and the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction.

About North Dakota Assessment Data: To protect student privacy, the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction reports assessment results as percentage ranges rather than exact values. SchoolDigger calculates proficiency rates using midpoint imputation, which uses the center value of each reported range. For example, a reported range of 20-29% is represented as 24.5%. As a result, the proficiency rates shown may vary by approximately ±5 percentage points from actual values. This variance is most significant for individual grade/subject combinations and diminishes when data is aggregated across multiple grades or subjects.
