This is significantly lower than the nearby Lenoir County Learning Academy, which had a 95.83% free and reduced lunch rate in 2023-2024. Additionally, Wayne School of Technical Arts has a relatively low student-teacher ratio, with 18.5 students per teacher in 2023-2024 and 15.8 students per teacher in 2022-2023, which is higher than the 9.5 student-teacher ratio at Lenoir County Learning Academy in 2023-2024.

The data suggests that Wayne School of Technical Arts is a high-performing alternative school that is providing a quality education to its students. However, the relatively low percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch may raise questions about the school's accessibility and equity in serving the local community. Further analysis of the school's enrollment and admissions policies could help understand if there are any barriers to entry for economically disadvantaged students.

Open Quote Not enough teachers. What few teachers they do have lack knowledge and experience for a”school of technical arts”. Name is a misnomer. Any technical arts are actually through the community college. Students can play sports through eastern Wayne. But good luck with administration at WSTA helping. Eastern Wayne administration helpful but limited on how they can assist student athletes. WSTA principal should find a different career path, as he is unapproachable and actively avoids parental interactions. Guidance counselor shouldd retire or find different employment. She too avoids parents and fails communication 101. Lack of teachers forces students into online classes. If we wanted online classes we would home school. Please look elsewhere if think of this school. Close Quote
