As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This is the first year my children have be to knollwood elementary and they have both had to visit sergeants do to incidents at knollwood. Both times I have received a call that they have over exaggerated a slight incident. My daughter had a piece of wood go under her nail from her knuckle to the tip of the finger and had to get it surgically removed and u could see the wood clearly. My son was being harassed through out the year the teachers knew about it and I never was told about it. They second to last day of school the child punched my son in the face. The school only suspended the child for a day. My son told the office that something was wrong with his jaw. The woman at the office called him a liar n told him to sit down. They called me and told me he was hit and had a red spot. Once I got there I saw that his jaw was crooked and on the other side of his face he could barely talk. I took him to the doctor and his jaw was broken. This was not the first time the bully had harassed other children may parents had told me afterward about this child harassing there children and the school not do anything. My son cant go to summer camp, swim, skateboard, or anything this summer due to the incident. Now do you think this is a school that is suitable for your child or would you like to know your child is save? Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
