Noxapater Attendance is a K–12 alternative attendance center in the small town of Noxapater, Mississippi, serving 473 students as part of the Louisville Municipal School District. The school serves a high-poverty population—100% of students qualified for free/reduced-price lunch in 2022–23 and 2023–24—and its student–teacher ratio rose sharply from about 13.4 to 17.4 over the past year, meaning larger class sizes for students.

The school's biggest strengths are in elementary literacy and science. In 2024–25, Noxapater posted impressive 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade ELA proficiency rates (62.7%, 73.3%, and 74.0%) that far exceeded both the district and state averages. Science scores are equally strong: 78.6% of 5th graders and 66.7% of Biology students scored proficient in 2025–26, both above state averages. These results are particularly notable given the school's high poverty rate and show that Noxapater is capable of elite performance. The school also outpaced nearby Nanih Waiya Attendance Center in several elementary subjects, including 4th grade ELA (73.3% vs. 50.0%) and Biology (64.1% vs. 55.8%).

However, there are serious concerns. Graduation rates have fallen from 95.5% in 2021–22 to 86.4% in 2024–25, now below both the district (94.4%) and state (89.2%) averages and well behind Nanih Waiya (92.5%). Chronic absenteeism has more than doubled since 2018–19, rising from 10.5% to 21.6%. Middle school scores are also a weak spot, with 7th grade ELA at just 27.3% and 7th grade math at 39.4%, both well below state averages. High school English II and Algebra I proficiency also lag the state. The combination of rising class sizes, growing absenteeism, and declining graduation rates suggests the school's most vulnerable students may be struggling, even as elementary grades show what's possible.
