The Children's School At Stephens C

We have really enjoyed our preschool experience at SCCS. The teacher:student ratios are very low and with all the extra hands from the rotating student teachers, I feel that my daughter gets a great deal of personal attention. The parent community is very supportive as well. I feel that by attending SCCS, my daughter is very well prepared for kindergarten and beyond. Overall it's been a great experience for all of us.

This school has been such a great place to watch my son learn and grow. The teachers are exceptionally qualified, the learning activities are fun but also he learns new, exciting things every day, and there is an emphasis on creative thinking and exploring. My son has gone here for 3 years and when he started he had speech issues and also was developmentally behind many kids his age. He got one-on-one speech therapy and no longer needs it anymore, but always enjoyed it. The teachers have taught him to love learning and not get disappointed at what he can't do yet, and he has surprised himself at what he can do today. I have a background in education and have been a teacher trainer for years, and I really appreciate the consistent educational quality of Stephens College Childrens School.

This school continues to amaze me! The teachers are very qualified and the students are so smart! Children have unique learning opportunities based on student needs. There are no other schools like this in Columbia-it a unique laboratory school on Stephens College campus!
