Stillwater Area High School in Stillwater, MN, is a public comprehensive high school serving grades 9–12 with 2,658 students, located in the St. Croix River valley community and part of Stillwater Area Public Schools. For 2025–2026, it ranks 55th of 473 Minnesota high schools (88th percentile, 4 stars), while its district ranks 47th of 458. The school was a consistent 5-star, top-10% performer from 2016–17 through 2023–24 but has recently settled into a solid 4-star band around the high 80s. Graduation and dropout outcomes are near-elite: a 96.0% graduation rate and 0.4% dropout rate, versus 84.9% and 4.2% statewide.

Science is a genuine standout: 44.3% proficiency, well above the state’s 25.5% and above Mahtomedi Senior High’s 37.1%, even though Stillwater serves a more economically diverse population (19.6% free/reduced lunch vs. 11.5% at Mahtomedi). Math is also solid at 56.1%, roughly matching Mahtomedi’s 57.8% and beating the state’s 44.9%.
