Summary

Healy Secondary is a grades 7–12 school serving 607 students in the small central Minnesota community of Pierz, making it the second-largest school in its local comparison group and part of the Pierz Public School District. Overall, it comes across as an above-average school with standout math results, strong graduation numbers, and a recent, uneven dip in reading and science.

Math is clearly Healy's brightest spot. In 2025–2026, all-grade math proficiency was 53.6%, compared with 44.9% statewide, 39.6% at Little Falls Senior High and 30.0% at Royalton High School. Eleventh-grade math was even more striking at 64%, nearly double the state's 35.3%. Reading tells the opposite story: 38.9% proficiency, below the state's 48.6% and down sharply from 60.14% the previous year. Science came in at 28.2%, slightly above the state's 25.5% but behind Royalton (37.7%) and Little Falls Senior (39.9%). Completion outcomes remain a strength: a 94.5% graduation rate and 1.0% dropout rate, both well better than the state's 84.9% and 4.2%. About 24.55% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. The biggest concern is special education, where Healy ranked 218th of 224 schools (3rd percentile, 0 stars) in 2025–2026 — far below its overall results and a decline over several years. Keep in mind that Healy serves grades 7–12 while most neighbors serve 9–12, and that Little Falls Continuing Education and WIN-High School have suppressed test values that are unknown, so comparisons are imperfect.
