Kerkhoven Secondary is a small rural school serving 382 students in grades 7–12 in Kerkhoven, Minnesota, a town of roughly 750 people, and it is the only secondary building in the Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg district. In 2025–26 it ranked 267th of 473 Minnesota high schools — the 44th percentile, rated 2 stars.

The school is in the middle of a slow recovery. It ranked in the 82nd and 75th percentiles (4 stars) in 2015–16 and 2016–17, fell to the 21st percentile by 2021–22, and has climbed back since (23 → 27 → 39 → 36 → 44).
