Open Quote Metcalf has potential. It's the lack of cooperation with the students that causes this school to lack in places it shouldn't. Teachers explain new rules to enforce, and never follow through on them. This causes kids to understand that nothing actually matters. Again, this school has potential. However, it might take too long for it to be revealed. Keep searching for schools if this is the case. Close Quote

Open Quote It's a great school its nothing with the teachers its the damn students there all bad and they do drugs except for the few who want to learn (like me). The teachers are doing there best the students don't listen and that's the only problem here. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is not safe. There are gang activities and discipline issues at this school. Disruptive children are allowed to continue to cause problems. They are rewarded for bad behavior by shooting baskets. They are allowed to hit teachers and fellow students. We are removing our child from this district. If you care about your child's safety you should not send your child here. They are not far away from needing police and metal detectors. There are about 3 fights a day between the different gangs and they bully the serious students. The administration does nothing to deal with the behavior issues, even after repetitive complaints. Teachers are caring and good, but they are not supported by their administration and have to resort to sending disruptive students our of their classrooms daily, only to have to deal with it again the next day. Very sad, as we moved to Burnsville 10 years ago because of the good schools and STEM programs. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
