Osakis Public School District in Minnesota serves roughly 887 students across two schools: Osakis Elementary, which covers grades PK–6 with 472 students, and Osakis Secondary, which serves grades 7–12 with 415 students. Because there is no separate middle school, seventh and eighth graders attend the secondary building. The district overall earns 4 stars and ranks 102nd of 458 districts statewide, placing it in the 78th percentile.

Osakis Elementary is the academic standout, earning 4 stars and ranking 139th of 869 schools, in the 84th percentile. Its all-grade proficiency beats both the district and the state in every subject: math 72, reading 62.6, and science 29, compared with district marks of 62.9, 53, and 24.2 and state marks of 44.9, 48.6, and 25.5. Individual grades shine too, including 3rd grade math at 80.4 versus the state's 57.9 and 4th grade reading at 74 versus 48.8. The exception is 3rd grade reading at 38.6, below the state's 46.8. Notably, the elementary school reports a higher free/reduced lunch rate (35.81%) than the secondary school (32.05%) yet posts much stronger test results.

Osakis Secondary stands out for completion rather than test scores. Its graduation rate is 95.8% against the state's 84.9%, and its dropout rate is just 1.3% versus 4.2%.
