Open Quote My daughter just enrolled in Perry for Kindergarten and we are very happy with the school. It is warm, nurturing, and focused on education. The principal, Ms. Buddins, greets the children at the door every morning, and there are always teachers and staff talking to the kids and taking an interest in them. Everyone has been very responsive to any questions or concerns that I have. There's a true partnership between the parents and the schools, for those that want to be involved in their children's education.
Their school lunch menu is very healthy, and from the way my daughter eats it must also be pretty tasty. "Specials" (art, library, gym, music) are held daily, and the speech therapy teacher meets with kids multiple times a week if it's necessary. Another bonus is the playground - while the area her class has access to is kind of small without a lot of area to run around, it's enclosed in a courtyard, which makes it much safer than some of the other options in Ypsilanti elementary schools.
I really like Perry and plan to send my other children there as well. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
