Milan Middle School, part of the Milan Area Schools district, serves 526 students in grades 5 through 8 and holds a 3-star rating, ranking in the 64th percentile statewide for the 2025-2026 school year.

One of the school's standout strengths is its 8th-grade science program. In the most recent school year, 52.9% of 8th graders were proficient in science, well above the state average of 39.2% and significantly higher than nearby Lincoln Middle School and McBride Middle School, both at 30.9%. This same 8th-grade cohort is also performing strongly in social studies (57% proficiency vs. 50.3% statewide) and nearly matching state averages on the PSAT.
