Allen Park Public Schools is a Michigan district serving approximately 3,694 students across five schools—three elementary schools (Lindemann Elementary School, Bennie Elementary School, and Arno Elementary School), one middle school, and one high school—with a district-wide ranking of 149 out of 625 Michigan districts (76th percentile, 4 stars).

Arno Elementary School is the clear standout, ranking in the 85th percentile statewide with a 4-star rating and outperforming district averages in nearly every subject. Notably, Arno achieves this while serving the highest percentage of economically disadvantaged students (55.6% free/reduced lunch), challenging assumptions about socioeconomic status and performance. In contrast, Bennie Elementary School is the district's weakest performer at the 56th percentile, with 4th grade math proficiency at just 25.3% versus 39.4% statewide. Lindemann Elementary School sits in the middle at the 65th percentile but has shown a declining trend from its 72nd percentile peak. The elementary ELA divide is stark: Arno achieves 67.5% proficiency in 4th grade ELA versus just 34.2% at Bennie—a 33-point gap within the same district.

Allen Park High School excels at keeping students on track with a 92.8% graduation rate and 3.0% dropout rate (both far better than state averages), though SAT math proficiency lags at 25% versus 26.5% statewide. Allen Park Middle School is a hidden bright spot, with 8th graders achieving 68.4% ELA and 40.5% math proficiency—both above state averages—and the school has climbed from the 52nd to 67th percentile in two years. District-wide, math is the Achilles' heel, with proficiency eroding from strong 3rd grade performance to much weaker 5th grade results. Chronic absenteeism correlates clearly with performance: Arno's rate is just 14.9% while the high school's is 27.8%.
