Summary

Glenburn Elementary School is a public school serving grades PK-8 in Glenburn, Maine, part of the Glenburn Public Schools district. With 389 students, the school has consistently outperformed the state average on academic assessments, ranking in the top half of Maine elementary schools over the past several years.

Glenburn Elementary's academic performance is particularly strong in core subject areas, with 68.7% proficiency in English Language Arts, 56.52% in Math, and 48.75% in Science, compared to the state averages of 63.84%, 49.38%, and 36.18% respectively. The school also maintains a relatively low student-teacher ratio, ranging from 10.8 to 13.4, lower than many nearby schools. However, Glenburn Elementary has seen higher-than-average chronic absenteeism rates, an area the school may want to address to improve student engagement.

Compared to nearby schools like Asa C Adams School and Fruit Street School, Glenburn Elementary generally outperforms them on test scores and has a more favorable student-teacher ratio. However, some of these nearby schools also demonstrate strong academic performance, and Glenburn Elementary may be able to learn from their practices to further support all of their students, including those in special education and from low-income backgrounds, who currently perform less well than their peers.

Open Quote I have two daughters that attend Glenburn Elementary....both have flourished in the past 3-4 years, they accommodate my oldest daughters needs in every way (she is special needs) and her progress is better then expected, my youngest was behind in reading and OT skills within a year she was on track above state required....The teachers are amazing and miss Catrel has been with us through it all helping any way she possibly can for our entire family. (She is Amazing) would never go to any other school, they are in the best place they can be in!(in my opinion) Thanks for everything Glenburn School!
